      • Review:: '100 ideas in 100 days of intimate personal education In her attempt to deal with the crisis of overeating and obesity, the author took a long shot at the psychology of such unrestrained human behavior. She started by defining the place of food in people's life, the rule of conscious behavior, and the body's response to over eating. She then tackles the motivation, emotion, and triggers that master such behavior and proposes distracting gimmicks to modify eating behavior. Finally, she hopes for long term adherence to a new healthy pattern of behavior that she strove to construct. In her painstaking labor to tweak the pattern of eating behavior form unwary and purposeless to disciplined and restrained, the author utilized the 225 pages effectively and simply by limiting her discussion to what she knows best: psychology of eating. She thus tackled that aspect of the crisis of overweight form the consumer side of view, where individuals have to take charge of their own actions. In that context, the author has abandoned the majority of overweight people and the would-be overweight, in every passing moment of modern living, due to the indiscreet culture of profiteering at the expense of ignorant population. Mostly those who could endure reading such extensive literature would be able to restrain themselves in the maze of sickening fast food industry. Does it have to be that complicated to control bodyweight in today's industrial society? Unfortunately, yes. Industrialization has deprived common people from the sense of gauging the amount and quality of daily consumed food and the intensity and duration of minimal physical activity necessary to healthy living. Standard education might not reclaim such lost glory of natural living and instinctual habits that humans have developed over millions of years of human evolution. The bread and corn were good when people used to farm a third of the 24-hour day. Today, all wheat and corn products are being deposited under the skin and in between the organs of modern humans. Today's Physical labor is far outpaced with the intake of high sources carbohydrates that are easy to access, cheap to buy, and enticing to consume. Unless global ban on wheat and corn products is exerted on the fast food industry, overweight and obesity will remain on the top of the causes of mortality and morbidity in societies that thrive on automotive power in lieu of physical human activity. By confining its remedial task to eating psychology, the book is a real supplement to public education on how to stay vigilant when dealing with the silent killer of obesity and overweight that only results from overeating or poor quality eating and inactivity.       • Review:: 'Well written thought provoking book, good for focusing the reader to stay on track A 44-year-old woman that has struggled to lose weight for a number of years writes this review. The combination of too much work, and not enough sleep and exercise resulted in "excess storage tissue" as my darling husband likes to call it. If you have ever struggled with excess weight and couldn't motivate yourself to stick with a diet for the long haul you should read this book. The book is subdivided in 10-day blocks as follows: 1. Set up for success 2. Put food in its place 3. Conscious eating 4. Listen to your body 5. Jump-start motivation 6. Emotional eating 7. Triggers and word play 8. Growing stronger 9. Long-term success 10. Put it into action This book is written in 2 page chapters that you are suppose to read each day. The author presents a very concise and thought provoking idea each day. Then the author asks you to think about the topic and what it means to you and answer a question or two. By honestly answering the questions in this book I was able to identify long held beliefs that were not serving me well. As a victim or sexual assault in my freshman year of college I connect thinness with danger, subconsciously. This book helped me to bring these thoughts to the surface so that I could recognize them and deal with them before they showed up on my hips. I am not trying to imply that someone with deep-seated underlying issues is the target audience of this book. What I am trying to convey is that I think this book can help the casual dieter, or those that have issues that go deeper. If you are honest with yourself when you answer the questions each day you might be surprised at what bubbles to the surface. The book is written in a very pleasant conversational tone. The author is in no way condescending, like some other books I have read on the topic. The ideas the author puts forth are very simple yet effective. If you are looking for an awareness of what you do that has caused excess weight to accumulate you will learn something about yourself and your habits reading this book. This book is also full of tips and tricks to keep you on track. In my opinion this is a very useful book from the perspective that it altered my thoughts about food. I recommend this book to anyone that is struggling with excess weight.

Both these books have changed my life and my outlook on food. Food is no longer my enemy and I no longer fear the stronghold it once had on me. Do yourself a favor, invest in both these books. He also reminds the reader of important rules to follow in order to keep not only thin but also healthy. All in all this is a good book for someone committed to losing weight and keeping it off. What I particularly liked about this book is its focus being shifted towards living healthy lifestyle. The author emphasizes the importance of cleansing the liver and detoxifying your whole body. This sounds to me like a revamp of the same good ideas so well presented in the book Can We Live 150 in which the author focuses exclusively on health and self-help (body cleansing, proper breathing, and using all the "natural doctors who are always with you"). Interestingly losing weight seems to be the natural outcome of one's healthy lifestyle. This has at least been so in my case.

Its that simple!
