• Review:: 'Cursory at worst - well written at best , but used, not new. As others have said this text is suitable for beginners, do not purchase this text if you seek detail of in-depth understanding of any specific aspect of networking. However my gripe is with Amazon, this text was used, not new when I received it. New texts don't come with Checkpoint stickers inside and a sheet of notebook paper with an ad for "roomate wanted" somewhere in the vicinity of Idaho State University and a phone number and e-mail address for Deb. Also Deb might want to be more careful as the back of that same sheet listed three account numbers. Obviously Deb didn't use the text long, it was in good shape and she never opened the CD but Amazon owes me a refund and explanation.
• Review:: 'Good intro book This is one of rare books that is easy to read and that explains lan,wan, routers, switches, hubs...IPv6...there are some example programs writen in C (server, client...) and much more. But this is a book for beginners and if you are new to networks you'll like it and find many informations but if you already know network basics then I think that you have to find some other book. Good book but writen for beginners.
• Review:: 'A good introduction for newbies... This is a very superficial exposure to computer networks. If you have no previous knowledge on the subject, this would be a good place to start. However, if you already know the basics and want to get your hands dirty, go get Tannenbaum's Computer Networks - there you will find everything explained in detail. One more thing about the book - in my opinion the author could have structured it much better - some chapters seem out of order. Also, as I noted above, it is a little stingy on facts...
• Review:: 'Too much prose. At the first time, I used this book as my reference in my networking area. But later I can not keep up this fully-prosed book anymore. At last, I had to change my reference book to another.
• Review:: 'A textbook that doesn't put you to sleep I'm a CS student taking a Networks course so I could be considered a 'beginner'. This book is easy to read and understand and provides a great overview without being too bogged down in details. The short, concise chapters make it very readable. Great introduction to the subject!

  My only gripe in that the file/folder names on the CD are corrupted and there isn't any support on the book's site.

• Review:: 'With respect Evan Marc Katz has created a warm, witty, inviting book that brilliantly describes pearls and pitfalls of online dating. He discusses the sensitive emotional and interpersonal issues' dating online imposes on singles, and offers practical suggestions and compassionate support. This book is an invaluable resource for those singles dating online. If you want to laugh out loud while learning about online dating, it is a must read! (My professional opinion) However, I'm single, over 35, and while this book was a gift, I haven't laughed this hard about basic dating skills in a long time. I read it because Evan Marc Katz was actually my gift (too bad for all of you that only got the book). Seriously, Evan's coaching was a present to me from a friend who thought I needed a little assistance finding love online. After working with Evan, I realized all the little things really do matter. He taught me that in a game of numbers, you have to stand out otherwise you may not get noticed by the people you want. The book is educational to anyone with an open mind, and who isn't jaded and cynical simply because they are over 35 and not yet married. I highly recommend it. -Amy B. • Review:: 'You got me to try it! After my divorce I had trouble meeting people. All my friends were dating online, but I was afraid to. My girlfriend had recommended this book to me and I was amazed! There is so much information in it! It's smart, witty and easy to read! I am also not very internet savvy, so I found its explanations really helpful. My thoughts about dating on the internet have changed immensely and I am now enjoying "getting out there again." • Review:: 'I can't believe I bought this book I was disappointed by this book. People who are reading all the glowing reviews on here should consider who the reviewers are and should know that this book isn't for everyone. I bought it because I thought it would be useful to get a male perspective on Internet dating. Evan Katz is a likable guy with a self-effacing humor and a breezy, engaging writing style. But women, especially over 35, should know that this book is mostly geared toward guys and giving them advice on how to land dates with attractive women. Katz seems to have a distorted view of what online dating is like for women. He says that a woman can put a profile up and have literally hundreds of men writing to her the first week. "Suddenly a woman has a mountain of men waiting at her doorstep like the paparazzi outside Brad and Jennifer's mansion." What planet is he on??? That isn't my experience or that of the women I know. There is nothing in this book for us, except maybe that we should set our sights on 60-year-old men, because they are the only ones likely to be interested in us anyway! Katz would have done well to consult some women besides the apparently hot young babes he has dated. People who are new to online dating will probably get more out of the book than those already in the game. I mean, I already knew you had to put up attractive, smiling photos and write a creative, original profile. Unless you're a man or a woman under 30, save your money.
• Review:: 'It worked for me! As I was just dipping my toe into the internet dating pool, I ordered this book and was so glad I did. Although it is mostly common sense, the author goes further. He gets specific and gives examples so that you can take the common sense ideas and actually put them to use. Plus the book is very funny and entertaining...definitely worth reading. After reading this book, I started a whole new dating profile (user name, text, photos) and just 12 hours after I posted it, I met the man I am now engaged to. Seriously! My fiance told me that while he was initially attracted to my photo, it was my profile text that made him join the dating site just to talk to me. And based on what I wrote, I didn't just find "someone", I found exactly the person I wanted. I recommend this book to every single person I encounter (I've already ordered quite a few copies from Amazon to give to people).
• Review:: 'Dating is differnt these days! Online dating can be a bit nerve racking and a completely different world for some people, and that's why I'm glad a swooped up this book!
