• Review:: 'Great Book! This was a great little bite-sized book - my favorite part was where the author dealt square-on with death. I have used the analogy she wrote in this book so many times! What a gift!
• Review:: 'There's No Place Like Hope What an uplifting book for all breast cancer survivors!! I am a stage 3B breast cancer survivor too and had finished all treatments recently when another cancer survivor handed it to me to read and I love it. Though Ms Girard sounded like a PR for CTCA in the first few chapters, which almost made me feel like wanting to drop the book like a hot potato, I admired for strength and courage for not giving up and to fight for her life. She draws from her own experiences and this is very encouraging to those who are in the same boat. I highly recommend this book for those who are newly-diagnosed with cancer, she prepares them as to what they can expect during and after chemo treatments and how best to deal with it light-heartedly. It is good for those who like me, do not want any heavy reading material during chemo treatments. My head and eyes are so heavily loaded by the effects of chemo that I can't read or focus on anything serious. I love the way the book is written and layout - "bite-size" short passages that you can put it down any time and come back later to continue. CTCA and all cancer centers should make this an "orientation gift" for all new cancer patients!! I read it from cover to cover within 2 days, and I must say it's one of the few books and I will read a couple more times. I have since bought 6 of the same book as encouragment gifts to other cancer patients. No doubt about it... "There's no place like HOPE". Thanks Vickie Girard!!
• Review:: 'An Absolute Must have ...for anyone dealing with Cancer My mother was diagnosed with Cancer one week before Christmas. We are still battling this horrible disease, but we do see light at the end of the tunnel. This book was inspiration to everyone in my family. My mother, her daughters, her grandchildren....we each benefited in some way from reading There's No Place Like Hope. This book is amazing.....don't hesitate.
• Review:: 'Good, heartfelt advice After reading some of the other reviews, I was expecting this book to read like a Cancer Treatment Centers of America infomercial, but my mom was recently diagnosed with cancer and I wanted to get her something uplifting, so I bought this book. I'm so glad I did. I didn't feel at all as though the book were a commercial -- instead, I felt that the author was trying to emphasize that she was initially ignored by doctors who told her to prepare to die in a few months, and then she found a place that gave her hope (she's still alive, years later). I think her point was that if you as a cancer patient aren't getting that kind of care, then you should look elsewhere until you do. The book was a quick read and was full of caring advice for the patient and the patient's friends and family, all written by someone who's been there.
• Review:: 'Truly offers HOPE! This book changed my family. I gave this book to my mom after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was diagnosed with stage 2 possibly stage 3 at 51 years old and was so afraid that her life was over. That she would never see her grandchildren again. This book restored her faith, her strength and her hope. I read the book and I agree that it focuses on one health care. But if you get beyond that, this book is truly inspirational

• Review:: 'Unbelievably informative! This is a spectacular book, even if you never get cancer! One of the very best parts is on Dr. Johanna Budwig and her amazing therapies. Although I have been studying natural and alternative health protocols for many years now, I had not yet heard of her work. Dr. Budwig was nominated for the Nobel Prize SEVEN times because of her amazing results in her biochemistry lab. and medical practice, using Organic Cold-pressed High Lignan Flaxseed Oil and Organic Cottage Cheese (or other high quality organic proteins). She cured DECADES worth of clients with her nutritional recipes, even those who had other degenerative diseases...NOT just cancer.Unfortunately, most Western governments hush-hushed her findings and did not allow this information to be made public, because it would take business away from big pharmaceutical companies O.K., so you say, tell me about someone you know that this book has helped? • Review:: 'How to Fight Cancer & Win This book contains an overview of the famous German Doctor Johana Budvig, and her amazing cure for cancer. Just the stuff American drug companies don't want you to know.
• Review:: 'Good advice, but please be sure to add supplemental selenium The cancer-fighting nutrient most proven to date is selenium. A daily supplement of 200 microgram of selenium, has been shown in a large placebo-controlled, double-blind clinical study -- the most prestigious type of scientific study of nutrients and drugs -- to cut the death rate from cancer in half. Specifically, a large group of people who were given each day a yeast tablet enriched with 200 micrograms (mcg) of selenium had only half the number of deaths from cancer over a seven year period as a similarly large control group who were given a daily yeast tablet containing no selenium. Yeast tablets enriched with 200 mcg of selenium are readily available at pharmacies as well as health stores across the U.S. for about $5 or so for a bottle of 50 to 100 tablets -- only 10 cents or less per day -- I do. The results of this dramatic study were published in the medical profession's own journal: The Journal of the American Medical Association. Nevertheless, most doctors pay no attention to the results. Think about that, selenium (at 10 cents per day or less) has been shown in a large clinical study to cut the death rate from cancer in half and nobody tells the public about it. Incredible! In my opinion, as a research chemist, everybody in the U.S. should take supplemental selenium every day. Other good cancer fighters include vitamin C, vitamin E, [CoQ10]Create?, and lycopene. Cancer can be prevented and cured. This book gives a lot of good advice, but please don't forget to take the right nutrient supplements including selenium.
• Review:: 'Cancer - it eats you up inside... A fight for the truth is always a just fight...
• Review:: 'Wow!! Bad lipid profile? --this book is for you! With the common American diet, transfats in our food, you too will develop problems. Do you have high triglycerides, or bad HDL/LDL ratios? Is your LDL (bad) cholesterol creeping higher and higher over the years -to the point at which your doctor is urging cholesterol lower drugs (poison)? It is very possible it is not what you are eating. It is what you are NOT eating.

  Sure, you may want to start reading food labels and limit (stop) eating hydrogenated fats, but the information contained in this book -A diet exchanging Omega3 fats (as in unprocessed/ unrefined flaxseed oil) for other fat types, and adding sulfur based proteins to your diet, combined with the other surprising facts and studies -you will probably reduce your chances of developing cancer and heart disease.

  If you have developed cancer, the text strongly urges you to not ignore your oncologist's advice, but it gives you additional weapon for your fight against cancer. These weapons, alien to classical medical teaching, usually come in the form of food (plant teas) and lipid (fats) supplements -the flaxseed oil.

  This book is a must own (and studied) for everyone who has had a parent or sibling pass on from any form of cancer. And, even though this book is not a "diet" book, it will give the reader a new way to view food. It will help to modify America's behavior toward food. When the information in this book is observed and adhered to, you will loose weight. And because you will have increased your HDL lipid intake, you will not crave the snack foods containing the poisons that will leave your teenage children without your guidance.

  Oh... and sorry my fellow Americans... Although this book is not trying to make you a vegetarian (meats are good, they contain high density lipids -HDL-), the book will cause you to rethink the grilling/smoking of meats, nitrite cured meats (luncheon meats, ham, hotdogs, and wursted sausages) -and our beloved barbeque.
